چکیده

Dynamic modelling and simulation of a chemical process in emergency conditions is considered. Such modelling and simulation often requires rapid implementation of model changes by the process engineer followed by simulation runs. A simulator with an open architecture structure is presented where the model components (equations) are stored in an object-oriented form in a database, enabling rapid and easy modification of the model. A general-purpose numerical solver is used for solving the model and plotting the pertinent results. An example is presented, where the use of the proposed simulator enables a rapid identification of the right strategy to prevent development of runaway temperature conditions in a reactor.

Spatial modelling of zonality elements based on compositional nature of geochemical data using geostatistical approach: a case study of Baghqloom area, Iran

Due to the existence of a constant sum of constraints, the geochemical data is presented as the compositional data that has a closed number system. A closed number system is a dataset that includes several variables. The summation value of variables is constant, being equal to one. By calculating the correlation coefficient of a closed number system and comparing it with an open number system, ...

Architecture of Environmental Risk Modelling: for a faster and more robust response to natural disasters

Demands on the disaster response capacity of the European Union are likely to increase, as the impacts of disasters continue to grow both in size and frequency. This has resulted in intensive research on issues concerning spatially-explicit information and modelling and their multiple sources of uncertainty. Geospatial support is one of the forms of assistance frequently required by emergency r...

Modelling of potential hazards in agent-based safety risk analysis

One of the key steps in safety risk assessment of an Air Traffic Management (ATM) operation is to identify as many potential hazards as is possible. All these potential hazards have to be analysed upon their possible contribution to safety risk of the operation considered. In an agent-based safety risk assessment of ATM operations there are two approaches towards the assessment of the safety ri...
